TESL Beach Clean-Up: A Day of Care for Nature at Pantai Merdeka
On 17th November 2024, 25 TESL students of Institut Pendidikan Guru Kampus Sultan Abdul Halim took a step toward making a difference through a meaningful Beach Clean-Up initiative at the serene Pantai Merdeka. This impactful event not only focused on preserving the environment but also fostered creativity, teamwork, and a deeper sense of responsibility among our future educators.
💡 Highlights of the day:
- 🌟 A briefing session to emphasize the importance of reducing waste and protecting marine life.
- 🧹 Team-based clean-up activities, resulting in dozens of garbage bags filled, leaving the beach in a much cleaner state.
- 📝 A poetry-writing and presentation session after the reflection, where students expressed their thoughts, emotions, and newfound appreciation for nature. These heartfelt poems captured the essence of the day's activities and their commitment to environmental sustainability.
Here’s an excerpt from one of the inspiring poems:
“Beneath the palms, we see the shore,
Littered once, but now no more.
Hands united, hearts awake,
For a cleaner earth, steps we take.” 🌍💚
After the poem presentations, the students shared their reflections on the day’s significance, committing to carry the message of sustainability into their classrooms and communities.
This initiative not only raised environmental awareness but also showcased the creativity and teamwork of our future teachers. Events like these remind us of the power of collective action in driving change.
A heartfelt thank you to all who participated and made this event a success! Together, let’s continue to inspire change and protect the beauty of our world.
